A little love song to three very big hearts

Yesterday I launched an indiegogo campaign to support my performance art piece "The Ghost Walk."

This project has been feeding my heart and possessing my mind for the better part of a year and a half.   I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to make this dream a reality and I owe a huge amount of thanks to some very special people.

Sarah Lasley has been an inspiration and a mentor for me ever since our first encounter five years ago.  She is fearless, passionate and ridiculously intelligent.  I wish I had more pictures of her but being that she lives behind the lens it can be hard to capture her.  Her eye for detail, intuition, and hunger for all things strange and beautiful make her a thrilling artistic companion.  If I spend the rest of my life making work by her side my soul will want for nothing.

Brenna Palughi is a visionary and a vision to behold.  Her grasp of the human body from its' intricate physiology to the way energy travel through it is extraordiary.   Her ability to translates this deep knowledge into form and movement is what makes her such an incomparable dancer.  She was the obvious choice for the first "Ghost Walk" especially considering she's the kind of beauty who doesn't mind being covered in dirt and dressed in garbage.  She immediately brought vitality to the costume igniting it with spirit, mystery and soulfulness.

Further behind the scenes and in the deepest part of my heart is Alex Major.   Alex has spent so much time collecting garbage with me that he has become a master of this strange activity.

His patience for untangling an intricate mess of delicate plastic in a maze of razor wire is astounding.

The lightness and humor he brings to what we have coined "the harvesting" makes these adventures joyous and silly.   He makes me laugh like no one else and there isn't a joke he can't roll with.   He has been by my side every step of the way encouraging and supporting me and I don't know what I would do without him.

Being held by these incredible people has encouraged me to delve deeper into the peculiar magnificence I have been encountering. . .

where I think I may be discovering the truth about beauty. . . .

Beauty is everywhere.
